Farmhouse Feature Walls

2nd Mar 2023

Farmhouse feature walls are a fabulous way to add character to your home! There are many options and it can certainly be confusing to decide what materials, colors and location in the home to use. We have pulled together some of our favorite feature wall ideas for your farmhouse cottage or coastal bungalow!

Where to create a feature wall in your farmhouse or coastal home?

The most important step when you begin this process is select the right space to enhance. When you walk into the room, where does your attention naturally go? A living room or study may have a fireplace or shelves and a bedroom may have a bed with a headboard. Select with the wall that you want to draw attention to because it’s different or interesting.

Natural wood planks are a breathtaking addition farmhouse style homes. Whether it is behind a bed, in a family room or in a foyer, weathered and rich tones make fabulous focal points. We simply love the weathered chevron pattern on this dining room wall by  Gallagher Interiors

Accent Tile

Tile can be stylish and offers texture as opposed to paint or wallpaper. Tiled accent walls can add incredible dimension and color to a room transforming it entirely! It is also practical to use tile in wet areas such as kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms. Check out this transformed laundry space by  Welsh Interiors

Exposed Brick

Exposed brick walls have been around since the 60s and this design choice is not going away any time soon! While some people absolutely love these walls for the rustic warmth and texture they provide, others see a dusty material that is tough to clean. It's hard to beat the nuanced dimension that brick provides, though, don't you think? Check out this gorgeous kitchen from  AtticMag
