General Shipping Information
Each product page includes an estimated time that it takes for a particular product to leave the warehouse. This time must then be added to the projected shipping time in order for you to get a general delivery estimate. In-stock items normally leave the warehouses within 2-10 days of ordering unless otherwise posted on each product page. Heavier furniture items may take up to 20 weeks if they are custom orders.
Common carrier, furniture freight and white glove delivery teams only work Monday - Friday. PLEASE CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLL-FREE AT 1(844) 677-6604 9am - 5 pm (CST) Monday-Friday IF YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT DELIVERY OF YOUR ORDER. We are here to help you get your items in a timely manner.
Freight Shipping & Delivery Times
You can find a reasonable estimate of the product's availability and an estimate as to when the item will LEAVE THE WAREHOUSE specified on every product page. It is important to note that this is an estimated time to ship and cannot be guaranteed by Cottage & Bungalow. Occasionally issues arise that are beyond our control that may lead to additional production and/or delivery time, such as our manufacturers experiencing a backup in production or weather issues that can affect transportation and delivery.
It is important to note that once a piece leaves our manufacturer’s facility, the remaining shipping time is beyond our control. Cottage & Bungalow DOES NOT guarantee ship times or delivery dates and will NOT refund or discount orders based on shipping or delivery time conflicts. Cottage & Bungalow functions as a liaison to ensure merchandise is transported safely to you, and although this process most often proceeds smoothly, delays and damages may be caused by the freight company. Cottage & Bungalow will do our absolute best to assist in getting your furniture to you in a timely manner and in good condition and will notify you immediately if we are made aware of any expected delays or problems.
Furniture freight & white glove delivery teams only deliver Monday - Friday. UPS/FedEx do not deliver to US Postal Service mail boxes and do not ship on Saturdays or Sundays. Please include a suitable physical address for your shipment where you will be available to receive your order. If you are trying to time your delivery, we do not guarantee ship dates. Please make other arrangements if you will not be available to receive your order.
It is essential that you inspect all freight shipped items very carefully and DO NOT sign for your piece if you suspect any damage.
How To Receive Your Furniture Shipment
Generally, heavy items are shipped via motor freight due to their size and weight. When items are delivered via motor freight to a residential address, freight companies are not required to do anything other than to remove it from their truck. For especially heavy items, we recommend that you engage assistance in moving the items to the exact location you have chosen within your home.
In most cases, you will be notified when your merchandise arrives at the carrier's location nearest you in order to set up a mutually convenient time for delivery. Note that many furniture items are shipped separately and may require assembly.
Our shipping includes delivery methods that will range from furniture freight - curbside to white glove delivery (delivery into your home, light assembly and removal of packing materials). Delivery options will depend on the item(s) purchased. Please note we do not hang pictures, mirrors or wall art. We do not hang lights, and we do not attach headboards to frames or walls. Call us toll-free to inquire about the specifics of this service at 1(844) 677-6604 Monday through Friday 9am - 5 pm Central Standard Time.
Cottage & Bungalow’s artisans take great care in packaging their creations to ensure safe transport to your home. Although these items are packaged properly, in some instances transit-related damage may occur. It is imperative that you inspect your order carefully when it arrives. Take the time to note and photograph any damage to your furniture and to the packing materials on the delivery receipt. Do not sign the shipping documents without recording details of transit damage. (For example: the furniture is scratched, dented, cracked, fabric is torn and the box is crushed on the top corner, punctured or wet).
Upon inspection, if you find that your merchandise is damaged, PLEASE SEND IT BACK WITH THE DRIVER. IF YOU KEEP YOUR FURNITURE, IT MAY DELAY THE REPAIR PROCESS. Damages must be reported to Cottage & Bungalow at the time of delivery or shortly after by calling us toll-free at 1(844) 677-6604 or emailing order@cottageandbungalow.com. We will be unable to assist you in repair or replacement of damaged merchandise if it is not thoroughly inspected and documented (notes & photos) as described above. Custom furniture is not returnable even if damage in transit occurs. If your item was damaged in transit, we reserve the right to have your item(s) repaired by a furniture medic. If you self repair or use a third party to repair any issues without prior authorization, any warranty will be voided.
When Damages Occur During Furniture Freight Delivery
While we do our utmost to ensure your items arrive in a timely manner and in perfect condition, there are some things that are beyond our control. We would love to be able to say that damage never occurs during transit, but unfortunately, that is not always the case. Our freight carriers handle your pieces with great care but it is important to understand that from time to time damages do occur.
When any delivery comes via furniture freight (trucking company not UPS or FedEx) to your home or office, inspect the item before you sign the freight company paperwork. Do not sign the receipt until you have inspected the item thoroughly! DO NOT TAKE DELIVERY OF DAMAGED FURNITURE. PLEASE SEND ANY DAMAGED PIECES BACK WITH THE DRIVER. 1) Take photos; 2) Note damage issues on the paperwork and 3) Get a copy of the paperwork before your driver leaves. 4) Call Cottage & Bungalow at 1(844) 677-6604 or email us at order@cottageandbungalow.com.
Custom furniture is not returnable even if damage in transit occurs. Instead, the freight company has the right to have the piece repaired back to the manufacturer's standards at their expense. They do this by sending the piece to a furniture medic or back to the manufacturer for repair. If the freight carrier determines the piece cannot be repaired, you have the right to be reimbursed for your purchase or have another piece sent at no additional charge and shipped out to you as soon as possible. DO NOT KEEP DAMAGED FURNITURE – SEND IT BACK WITH THE DRIVER. If you keep your damaged furniture, it prolongs the repair process.
Freight companies are instructed to deliver items during the time frame scheduled with you, our customer. However, if you find that your furnishing(s) were delivered when you are not at home, please do not move the boxes. Contact Cottage & Bungalow immediately for further instructions.
Damage in Transit: Additional Information
We cannot accept returns due to defective or damaged goods if you have been in receipt of the item for more than three (3) business days. Failure to notify us within three (3) days of receipt shall be deemed to be acceptance of the goods as received. Installation of the goods by the buyer shall be deemed acceptance of the goods by buyer. Cottage & Bungalow shall not be responsible for the installation expenses or any other damages Buyer contends incurred as a result of the goods being deemed non-conforming. Items shipping via common carrier (FedEX, UPS, USPS) that arrive damaged will be replaced at no cost to you. If you no longer want the item that has been damaged in transit, our return policies apply. We will provide a refund less restocking fees and any original "free shipping" costs. Please see the Returns & Exchanges page for details.
If upon examination you determine that the product is defective, we will replace the item at no charge to you. This must be clearly a manufacturing defect and not as a result of shipping or installation damage.
Refusal of Delivery
If you refuse delivery of your order for reasons other than damage when it reaches your home or place of business, you will be charged for all shipping costs, including the cost to return the item to the manufacturer and a 25% restocking fee. You will also be charged for any bank credit card fees that have been incurred along with handling and restocking fee imposed on us by our suppliers.
Very Important
If you have plans to be out of town prior to the expected receipt of large or bulky merchandise, please notify us so that we can contact the manufacturer or their shipping company. Many delivery companies charge storage fees. Any storage fees will be the customer's responsibility and, if charged to Cottage & Bungalow, will be charged back to the customer. These fees may be as high as $75 per day according to the size of the item. Additionally, if your item has been loaded on the local delivery truck and your delivery has been scheduled and you cannot receive your delivery that day, you are responsible for the cost of re-delivery which can be as high as $300.
Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
